Academy of Medical Sciences  – Newton International Fellowships Scheme

The Academy of Medical Sciences, in partnership with the Royal Society and the British Academy, is offering Newton International Fellowships to support early career international researchers from partner countries (currently China, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico) to undertake research in clinical or patient-oriented research at a host university or research institution in the UK.

Funding consists of £24,000 per annum for subsistence costs (tax exempt), up to £8,000 per annum for research expenses and a one-off payment of up to £2,000 for relocation expenses in year one only.

Academy of Medical Sciences  – Newton Advanced Fellowships

Newton Advanced Fellowships are also offered, which support early to mid-career international researchers from partner countries.

This scheme is currently open for applicants from Brazil, Mexico and South Africa, closing date 18 March 2015, 5pm (UK time). There will be a round open to applicants from China later in 2015. The fellowship provides up to £37,000 each year (for up to three years).

Academy of Medical Sciences  – Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers

These grants provide up to £30,000 over 1-2 years for consumables, to support Clinical Lecturers who are looking to develop and strengthen their research careers. Round 13 is now open.
