PERCAT Teaching opportunities

PERCAT Teaching opportunities in the College of Medical and Dental Sciences

Monday 15 September (9.00 – 1.00) Room N143 IBR Seminar Room,  CMDS

Tuesday 23 September  – Second training sessions

These workshops present the range of teaching opportunities PERCAT hopes to fill in the following year.

Training will be delivered in four areas (‘Learning from lectures’, ‘Facilitating small group teaching’, ‘Facilitating lab-based practicals’ and ‘One-to-one teaching’ (With a focus on research projects).  These are all CLAD accredited, so can contribute to the Introduction to Learning and Teaching’ programme if this is something you would like to explore in the future (More info at https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/as/cladls/edudev/courses-and-workshops/teach-stu-support/ilt-pgta-open.aspx)

Postdocs / Early Career Researchers are involved in teaching in a range of postgraduate and undergraduate courses, either leading tutorials, journal clubs with small groups of students, as laboratory practical demonstrators, or as day-to-day supervisors of project students.  This can be an ideal way to ‘test the water’ to see if teaching is something you enjoy and whether it is something to consider as a career.

These training sessions are alternatives (i.e both are at 10.30 – 1.00), PERCAT will run another set of sessions later in the year if there is demand.

Please register your interest for either training session via the PERCAT website – www.birmingham.ac.uk/percat
