The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the UK Intellectual property Office will be hosting a series of three seminars on intellectual property this October. Each seminar is free and open all. WIPO simply ask that participants register in advance following the instructions below. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
The half-day events will provide an introduction to WIPO services and initiatives, including international systems for the protection of IP rights (amongst others, patent, trademarks, designs and the associated WIPO managed systems; namely the Patent Cooperation Treaty, The Madrid System and the Hague Agreement), alternative dispute resolution, and infrastructure for the exchange of IP information including on-line patent searching.
There will be plenty of opportunity for debate and discussion, as well as interaction with the UK Intellectual Property Office and local business representatives. A full programme will shortly be made available.
Dates and venues for the three seminars have been confirmed as follows:
- 6 October 2014: British Library, London
- 8 October 2014: Central Library, Manchester
- 9 October 2014: Mitchell Library, Glasgow
In order to register your interest, please email email@example.com with the subject heading ‘WIPO Seminar Registration – London/Manchester/Glasgow (delete as appropriate)’, providing them with a contact email address and phone number. Space at the seminars is strictly limited so early registration is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
