About the MRF and the funding
The MRF is the Medical Research Council’s independent charity. It is a registered charity and is funded by the giving public. Donors often determine the MRF’s research priorities by restricting their donations to support specific areas of medical research. The research funding in this competition is possible thanks to the generous support of the late Irene Griffiths, in memory of her parents Ena and Harold Griffiths, Edna Brierley, Margaret Elt, Evelyn Schuster and John Stephenson.
