A University of Birmingham research shop, “Think Corner”, will pop up soon in the city centre, opening its doors to the public from 25th August to 12th September, coinciding with the British Science Festival on campus. This is FREE space for public engagement activities, which could be anything from hands-on demos to citizen science, soapbox talks to in-depth discussion. And we’re keen to have a really wide range of research on show – across arts, humanities, science and engineering.
If you’ve got an idea for an activity but need some support – financial, logistical or planning – we can provide that, so please get in touch. Or if you’d like to volunteer for existing events – again, please contact us. We’d love to hear from students and postdocs too.
Do email the team at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Ideally we need expressions of interest to run activities by Friday 1st August (particularly proposals requesting internal funding) so that we can effectively plan the programme, but there will still be plenty of opportunities to get involved after this date if you get in touch.
