There are two key schemes currently open with BBSRC it may well be worth you considering applying to.
- The first of these is ALERT 14, which wants proposals for multi-project/multi-use equipment (typically £250k-£750k) to enhance capabilities in areas of science in the BBSRC remit, particularly where they pioneer the use of emerging advanced research technology.
- The second is the BBSRC’s Anniversary Future Leader Fellowship, which is targeted at early career researchers seeking to become independent who have “high potential” and no more than five years of postdoctoral research experience. The call is also open to current PhD students who are expected to have completed their PhD viva exam prior to announcement of the awarded AFLFs (30 November 2014).
Both of these represent really exciting calls which the College and University are keen to support, so if you are interested in applying then please contact your local Research Facilitator for guidance.
